Inspector – Petroleum Transfer Operations

About the role

SGS is seeking an Inspector to perform quantity and quality inspections of ships, barges and pipeline transfers of petroleum, petrochemical and chemical products in Guam. The role reports to the Junior Operation Executive and supports the technical operation team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual observation, volume and temperature measurement, and sampling of commodities in tanks, lines and vessels.
• Calculate quantities, reconcile data and complete required inspection documents.
• Label sample containers accurately and deliver samples to laboratories or customer facilities.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring safety and monitoring tools are functional.
• Communicate any discrepancies promptly to supervisors and attend intervention meetings.

Required profile

• Graduate of an engineering discipline or high‑school/vocational course (for Guam).
• Strong analytical, mathematical and technical abilities.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and flexible schedules.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications.
• Driving licence and ability to operate a vehicle.
